LAMP Breakfast Program | Healthy Bites Hot Lunch Program
LAMP Breakfast Program The Cafeteria at John English JMS offers a breakfast program through
the LAMP, Equally Healthy Kids Program, Monday - Friday from 7:30 -
8:45.
LAMP - Equally Healthy Kids - Philosophy Statement:
1) All children, youth and families have a right to live and grow in a
healthy community
2) The community has the responsibility to address the needs of its
families, children and youth and to provide the prerequisites for
health
3) Children, youth and their families can best determine their own
needs.
4) Meeting these needs is a shared responsibility between EHK,
children, youth and their families, working as partners
5) EHK views every child and youth as a whole person living in and
impacted by different cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and
circumstances.
6) EHK recognizes each child, youth and family lives in their social
and physical environment. We believe that promoting health involves
the environment.
7) The promotion of a healthy community includes;
a) the provision of child, youth and family prevention
services;
b) education of the community on related child and youth issues
c) prevention through education about healthy lifestyle choices;
d) client participation in program development, implementation and
education
e) advocacy on behalf of children and youth and
f) community development that promotes the inclusion of all
children, youth and families
8) Some children, youth and families have greater needs and,
therefore, require more of EHK.'s services, advocacy and support.
Empowering these community members strengthens the community at
large.
Equally Healthy Kids - Mission Statement:
EHK supports the development of a healthy Lakeshore by: contributing
to the social, emotional and physical well-being of children, youth
and families and working with the community to raise awareness and
develop strategies that improve the quality of life of all children,
youth and families.
