Class Representative Program
This year our goal is to have a parent representative for every class at
John English.
If you are interested in taking on this role, please talk to your child’s
teacher and email Jenn Robinson and Carolyn McPhee c/o classreps@johnenglish.ca. We would be happy to assist you with this role.
Becoming the parent rep is a great way to stay connected to what is happening in your child’s class. It is also a way to connect with other
parents. It doesn’t take up much time and you can split the role with
another parent if that would work better for you.
What is Expected:
- Prepare a class list with emails and/or phone numbers. (We can send a template)
- Connect with the teacher to find out how you can assist with communication
to the parents/guardians.
- Communicate to parents.
Suggestions for Communication:
- Weekly email/memo updates.
- Requests from teacher for volunteers, supplies, class events
- Spread the word about upcoming school activities such as reminders of council meetings, social events, fundraising events, etc.
- Provide information regarding class activities – homework assignments, projects, guests
- Field questions between parents and teachers
- You can set up a mini-website for your class, where parents and students can get classroom information and exchange ideas - we can help! It's quick, easy and will keep students, parents and teachers in touch! Mini-sites will be linked to the Classrooms page for easy access.

Thank you in advance,
Carolyn McPhee and Jenn Robinson
