John English Rocks was a huge success on many fronts and there are many people who greatly contributed to its success! See Spot Run was an AMAZING rock band that left ever-lasting impressions with students (and parents) in hopes that they will return again next year. Warming up the band was SPLASH the talented group of ESA students that would impress the cast of GLEE - they were that good. The night would not have gone so smoothly were it not for the talent of DJ Butterfingers and crowd-pleaser Ivan Petrovic as emcee and local hero to many.
We were fortunate to have many sponsors, donors and volunteers and want to thank them all for their contributions of money, product and especially time.
Jennifer, thank you for the security you provided and for organizing the Rovers from Humber College. You all went beyond the call of duty - we are so grateful! Won, thank you and your helpers for providing childcare for the pre-schoolers (we hear they enjoyed the concert too!)
Ed, you have great connections, thank you for bringing the band to John English. Anton, you rock! Thanks for taking care of our audio needs. Briar, we are so lucky you speak “music” because we now understand what a different language it really is. Thank you for taking care of the talent. Karen, we are fortunate to have a great local photographer. Jane, you had such innovative ideas to engage students - the poster contest was great. Kathleen, the decor was perfect - you are so talented. The students that helped on the banners did a fabulous job. Other students, the administration, family members and many from the JEL team helped before, during and after the concert. Thank you all!
