John English offers Early Immersion and Junior Extended French programs. These programs are designed for students who do not speak French at home.

Early Immersion Program

The Early Immersion program begins in Senior Kindergarten, and offers 100% French instruction in the classroom until Grade 4, at which time English instruction is gradually introduced until it becomes a half-day program from Grades 6-8.

Junior Extended French Program

The Junior Extended French program begins at the Grade 4 level. Students in this program spend 50% of their day in French instruction from Grades 4-8. The subjects taught in French are French Language Arts, Social Studies, and The Arts. The subjects taught in English are English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science.
